Does MWELO apply to me?

California statewide support

Sitewater can generate MWELO water-budget calculations for any project location in California using the approved statewide MWELO calculation model.

MWELO generally applies to new landscapes of 500 sq ft or more and rehabilitated landscapes of 2,500 sq ft or more when the project requires a permit, plan check, or design review.

Smaller projects and special project types may receive different treatment. Local requirements may be more restrictive than the statewide thresholds.

Confirm project applicability, classification, submittal requirements, and any local amendments with the enforcing agency.

Local jurisdiction guidance

If your enforcing agency has different requirements, submit its ordinance, worksheet, or written guidance for Sitewater review before you begin. Submitted material is reviewed; it is not automatically accepted and does not automatically change the calculation.
