Before you begin
MWELO Studio supports California projects using the statewide MWELO water-budget methodology.
MWELO generally applies to new landscapes of 500 sq ft or more and rehabilitated landscapes of 2,500 sq ft or more when a permit, plan check, or design review is required.
Local requirements can differ, so confirm applicability and submittal requirements with your enforcing agency.
If your agency uses different requirements, you can submit its ordinance, worksheet, or written guidance for review before you begin. We’ll review it for compatibility with MWELO Studio; submitted material does not automatically change the calculation.
